AAAS Science and Human Rights Coalition

Programs

The Coalition’s programmatic work will be carried out along two parallel tracks: specialized Areas of Activity and an overarching initiative. The two sets of activities are mutually supportive and reinforcing, with progress on one enhancing the likelihood of progress in another. For information about the Coalition’s five Areas of Activity and the joint initiative, please see the following:

Areas of Activity

Currently, the Coalition has the following working groups, devoted to five Areas of Activity:

Area of Activity I: Welfare of Scientists
Area of Activity II: Science Ethics and Human Rights
Area of Activity III: Service to the Scientific Community
Area of Activity IV: Service to the Human Rights Community
Area of Activity V: Education and Information Resources

Joint Initiative: Article 15: Right to the Benefits of Scientific Progress

In addition to the Areas of Activity, Coalition members will undertake a common initiative to advance the human right to enjoy the benefits of scientific progress and its applications. Learn More...
